How Does Category Discount Work?

How to set the category discount:
1. Go to Admin panel and select a Category to modify
2. Specify the "Discount Rate"
3. Set "Discount Apply to Sub-Categories" (default to false). If the value is "false", the discount will apply to current category. If the value is "true", the discount will be applied to all sub-categories -- You'll find all subcategories have the same discount rate.

Please note, you can go to a sub-category and change the discount rate. It'll not affect the discount rate of its parent category and sibling categories

How is product discount calculated
1. If product is on sale, the price is on-sale price. Otherwise see next
2. If the product's immediate category is on sale (discount rate is larger than 0), the price is calculated based on this discount rate. Otherwise, see next
3. if Global discount is set (configuration "Global Product Discount Rate" is larger than zero), price calcalation is based global discount rate. Otherwise, see next
4. the price is normal price

Please note:
1. Bulk discount is based on the single price calculated as above
2. Only one discount is applied, either product on sale price, or category discount, or global discount.
