I have checked my email address in the config.Is there another configeration for this email notification?

The system will always send email to customer and bcc to store admin when the customer places a new order.
If you are testing a new order with the same email address for both customer and admin, you will receive only one copy of the email.
Try a new order with different customer email addr and admin email addr. Let us know if you still don't receive the notification email.
